What is GREAT DESIGN?

"Oh wow, that's a nice texture! Look at this colour! What an idea!" Funnily enough you hear these exclaims more and more often within the Product Design Engineering course in the last years. Everyhting is being inspected and touched and turned around. I would say, an bravo to our teachers of the last years, which obviously have risen our awareness about products, their functionality, their relation with the user, their visual appearance, their materials, the processes included in the making, their fatigue and their end of life. This year we are trying to discover this journey even more, with our leading question "What is GREAT DESIGN?" This journal should hopefully help me to focus on which aspect and area in this vast design world fascinates and inspires me.
