ABOUT
I am in my 4th year of Product Design Engineering, a joint course of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Glasgow and Product Design at the Glasgow School of Art. It combines engineering knowledge with innovation and creativity.

We work individually or in teams on real life projects and challenges that last up to 3 months, often for companies and clients.
We have to consider health and safety, quality and risk issues as well as costs and deadlines. During the project we go through the process of intensive research and concept creation, evaluation, development, prototyping and CAD-modelling, up to a final presentation in front of the client.

Beside this, I take all the courses necessary for a mechanical engineering degree, accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and Institute of Engineering Designers to allow Chartered Engineer status. It gives me the perfect foundation to understand complex ideas and allows me to develop my concepts into reality.
In the last years I achieved first class results and got awarded with a place on the Engineering Excellence List of the University of Glasgow in 2015.

I chose this course because I think the best way to help the enviroment and to solve demographic problems is by improving existing technologies and develop new innovative ideas.
To do this you need both the technical knowledge and the skills and creativity of concept development.
